I have had knee problems for awhile now and it is due to me being over weight for the past 3 months I have been losing weight but I had to stop for a month (where in which I gained the few pounds I lost back grr!) due to my knee pain. How can I lose weight when it hurts too much to exercise?? But the reason for the pain is the weight I want to lose!! Does anyone know workouts that will help strengthen my knees so I can achieve me goals!?!?
You could maybe try swimming, then there is no pressure on your knees but you’re still being very active.
To make it better for losing weight you should try a heated swimming pool or resisting hunger pains after as the colder water will make you feel hungry.

As a middle distance runner for the last 12 mnths, I have had increasing pain in my right illiac crest of my hip. I have been dilligent with stretching and monitoring distance and speed to ensure I don’t overtrain. No expert to date has been able to relieve the pain. I know it is related to my illiotibial band of my leg, but even trying to strengthen my medial muscles has not helped. Any ideas on what is causing me so much grief and how I can relieve the pain so that I may keep up my running?
Over use of the muscles is causing the hip pain. You seem to be trying to do the right things by stretching and monitoring. I think you’re going to have to take a break from running to give the muscles the rest they desperately need. Pain is always a message that something is wrong. Do water exercises and swimming to reduce strain on the body.
Apply a moist heating pad or hot towels to the hip for twenty minutes. This should start to relax the muscles. It would be ideal if you could get physical therapy and have ultrasound therapy to the hips, this is a deep heat penetration that works far better than anything else for relaxing muscles. I do recommend you get massage therapy at least once a week to relax the muscles.
When a muscle is tired – it is tired. I have severe hip problems so I know what it’s like.

Ok, I know I have many questions today Great Dane, just one more. My Dane is 1 year. She began her round in two weeks, and recently has stopped bleeding. Lick like crazy for two weeks. I do not know if this has anything to do with this, but last week started to limp. I had no falls or injuries on the hind legs. I am very worried because I know mastiffs have problems with hips. I contacted my vet and has a appointment on Monday. Is it a growth crisis? Only painful for her lame? Thanks again for any help!
First, the Dane is not over yet its cycle. In fact, now when it is most likely to get pregnant if a living man has his way with her. She began to bleed again soon. A typical cycle is bleeding for 7-10 days, no bleeding and more receptive to a man for 7-10 days and then again for bleeding 7-10 days. PLEASE sterilization about 3 months after completing its cycle. Certainly, your vet appointment. If you do not have injuries, most likely growing pains. It could be Panosteitis or cloth. The symptom Main change is the limb limp cloth. I would be surprised if it was hip problems earlier in his life, but I have no idea what her hips were as parents.

Everything You Ought To Know About Symptoms And Treatments Of Knee Pain
Knee pain is extremely common. In fact, this condition is generally responsible for about 1/3 of all doctor’s visits for muscle and bone pain. Knee pain is a special problem for most athletes and over half of them endure it every year. Knee pain has a wide variety of causes and treatments. Swollen or torn ligaments, meniscus (cartilage) tears, and runner’s knee are the most common reasons for knee pain. But the knee is a complex joint, therefore there’s a lot more that can go wrong. The following are just some of the conditions that surely causes knee pain:
1. Bone Chips. Sometimes, a knee injury can break off fragments from the bone or cartilage. These pieces can get stuck in the joint, causing it to freeze up and you may also experience pain and swelling.
2. Bursitis. There are two types of bursitis, the ‘housemaid’s knee’ and the ‘preacher’s knee’ and these two are usually caused by kneeling. An overuse, a fall or repeated bending could irritate the bursa, thus causing knee pain and swelling.
3. Iliotibial Band Syndrome. The iliotibial band is a piece of tough tissue that runs from your hip down to your shin so if it is irritated by overuse or other problems, it can get swollen and cause pain on the outside of the knee.
4. Medial Plica Syndrome. Plica is a fold tissue in the knee joint so when this part gets irritated from overuse or other problems, swelling and knee pain can result.
5. Osgood-Schlatter Disease. Osgood-Schlatter is a condition causes painful bump below the knee, where a tendon from the kneecap connects to the shin. Usually this is caused by overuse and irritation of the tendon and pain may come and go over time. This condition is common in teenage girls and boys.
6. Osteoarthritis. A frequent cause of knee pain in adults.
7. Patellar Subluxation. Patellar subluxation (or partially dislocated kneecap) is a condition in which the kneecap slides out of position, causing knee pain and swelling. It is often the result of physical defect in your legs, rather than an injury and particularly common in teenage girls.
8. Tendonitis. When tendons get irritated from overuse, it can surely make the tendons inflamed and sore. One type of knee tendonitis is called ‘jumper’s knee.’
If an old knee injury was not correctly treated, it may keep causing occasional knee pain. But what does a knee pain feel like? Definitely the symptoms of knee pain vary depending on your specific knee injury, but things to look out for are: Pain (often when bending or straightening the knee.) and Swelling. Now, if you have either of these knee pain symptoms, consult your doctor immediately. Together, you could figure out the actual cause of your knee pain. To check what is causing your knee pain, certainly your doctor will surely have to do a thorough exam like X-rays, MRIS (Magnetic Resonance Imaging), or MR arthrogram (a special type of MRI in which a dye is injected into the knee to see more detail of the joint.
What’s the best knee pain treatment? Treatment for knee pain is dependent upon your particular knee injury. Mild to moderate injuries that cause knee pain will frequently heal on their own, given time, but to speed the healing, you can try the following:
1. Rest your knee. Give your knee a good rest and avoid intense activity.
2. Ice. Icing may reduce pain and swelling. Do it for 20 to 30 minutes every 3 to 4 hours for 2 to 3 days or until the pain is gone.
3. Compress. To compress your knee, it is best to use an elastic bandage, straps or sleeves to keep down swelling or add support.
4. Elevate your knee. Elevate your knee on a pillow when you are lying down or sitting for it can help reduce swelling.
5. Natural knee pain treatment. To treat knee pain, try to use Brazilian Heat spray because this menthol product is designed to help relieve your pain by turning off the pain nerves.
6. Practice stretching and strengthening exercises if your physician recommends them.
However to solve certain cases of knee pain, you need a procedure. Those with bursitis sometimes need to have excess fluid drawn from the knee and a surgery may be needed to remove bone chips or fix a dislocated kneecap. So when are you going to feel better? Recovery time from knee pain depends on the type of your injury. Further, people heal at various rates. While you get better, ask your doctor if you should take a new activity that will not aggravate your knee pain. Such as, runners could try swimming. Remember, anything you do, do not rush things and don’t attempt to return to your old level of physical activity until you feel no pain in your knee as you bend, walk, jog, sprint or jump. Or your knee feels as strong as your uninjured knee. However if you start using your knee before it is healed, you might cause permanent damage.
Knee pain can be difficult to prevent, since it is often a result of an accident. But you can still find some prevention you could take to reduce the risk of a knee injury.
1. Don’t exercise if you feel pain your knee.
2. Always increase the intensity of your workout gradually.
3. Stretch and strengthen your knee before and after physical activity.
4. To avoid bursitis, be sure to use knee pads.
5. Wear a pair of shoes that fit well and offer enough support.
6. And, keep your thigh muscles strong with regular stretching and strengthening.

Are knee pain & instability problems all that you ever have to think about?
If you are someone who participates in a lot of sporting activities, you know how important it will be to keep your knees in the best possible shape. Athletes, from high school stars to professional stars, all know that a knee injury could set them back for quite some time. Hiking and trekking enthusiasts as well as people who go jogging just to feel the wind in their face do not want to hurt their knees because it will stop them from doing the things that they love most. Dancers can lose professional gigs if they have a knee injury and even people who wait tables for a living can be held up from making money if they cannot walk to all of the tables while carrying their laden trays. Nobody can deny it- knee instability can be an outright pain!
Knee instability has done quite a bit of damage to a great number of people, preventing them from achieving their goals. This is why a person may want to use a knee brace anytime that they are suffering from knee instability, as this brace can help them to find the stability which they need to continue moving along steadily. The knee brace can help to lock their joint into a more safe place that will help them to support their weight, move more normally, and keep themselves from causing even more damage to their knees.
Suffering from knee instability means that a person will not be able to perform up to their full potential. For people who do a lot of running, having knee instability will stop them from placing their full weight on the joint and will hold them back while running. Those who do a great deal of lifting can suddenly drop everything when a knee gives out of them because of their knee instability. Those people who bend frequently, jumping and twisting, can find themselves stuck in a single position because they cannot manage the leverage that they were after.
How Does A Knee Brace Provide Stability?
The knee brace helps to keep the knee in a position where it will be difficult for a person to move their knee in a way that might cause damage. Common knee stability means that a person is having trouble keeping their knee in the best position to provide strength and support. The brace will help to provide this stability while a person heals internally and finds the strength on their own again. This stability, while external to your natural knee structure, can still protect a person from losing everything and severely damaging their joint.
You may also wish to use a knee brace even if you are not suffering from knee instability because this extra support can help protect you from hurting yourself in the future. When the knee brace stops you from moving in a way that knee instability would inevitably follow, you are being protected from trouble that could come from damaging your knee. This means that a knee brace is a great tool for anyone to take advantage of, whether they currently have knee instability or are simply looking to avoid it.

I’m 38 years old, and for the past two-three weeks have been having considerable hip pain, mainly on the left side. I can still walk decently, but have an especially tough time going up stairs.
A friend of mine says it’s probably the nerve that runs down my leg that is giving me the pain. I think I am compesating for the pain on the left side, and that’s leading to sore muscles on my right leg and lower back.
So, what should I do?! Are there stretching and other exercises that might help? Should I see a doctor? Chiropractor?
Thanks for your help.
(BTW: I weigh 165 pounds, so it’s not any extra weight that led to the problem. In fact, I think carrying my two-year-old daughter around town and up stairs caused the injury)
cut back on the carbs and make sure you are getting enough magnesium.
(had hip pain (and hand pain) for years before I found this out, just by accident. White flour products, potatoes, corn, sugar (think of it as white death), acid-based fruit.) If I were Chinese, I’d say you have too much yang.)
If it is stress-impact related, make sure that you carry your daughter evenly. (like with a sling or back pack)
But if it continues for more than a month, I’d suggest going to see a doctor. He’ll probably prescribe analgesics

I have had this type of bursitis for many years and get very bad flares with it sometimes that I can barely walk It is in both hips, I take anti-inflammatories,stretch when I can, use ice and when real bad get a cortisone shot which use to help but is no longer very beneficial.I have a home ultra sound machine which sometimes relieves a bit of pain as well. Has anyone out there tried accupuncture or anything else for this.???Its getting worse and very very painful so response will be greatly appreciated.~Thank You
Go to an Osteopathic Dr. (a D.O.).
When I had the bursitis in my knees so bad that I could barely walk, he actually manually pumped the bursa to empty it of fluid (not painful, felt great). He also gave me exercises to do in a swimming pool to keep them from filling with fluid again, and told me how to use ice packs for other knee swelling.
RE. the NSAIDs, try Zyflamend by New Chapter, a natural Cox2 inhibitor without the side-effects and long term damage of what you are using, BTDT too. It’s available at health food stores. This worked better than Viox or any Rx .
Also, being treated with classical homeopathy went very far to alleviate the pain, as in it eventually got me off crutches after almost a year of needing them to walk very slowly.

Does anyone know how the pain or help? I only on one side, it feels like a muscle tendon or small, where my leg my hip joints, near the front / groin area. The pain is less and takes longer to start if I take smaller steps when I run. It is slowly improving (a muscle becomes loud?), I felt for the first time after 5 minutes of running, now do not notice it until about 20 minutes. I've noticed that when you exercise on my back, and leg lift pilates exercise. Everyone knows the name of this pain? I know it's hard to say what it is. Management books I searched for it, but no luck, and I'll ask a doctor about this soon.
Hey, you can get an MRI density in the hip. I had a contrast of hip when I was a freshman in college, because I lived some of the same things that you mentioned. Turned I had a tear. Esp is an uncommon for riders who have changed their training intensity. For me, it was generally a sort of dull pain then became in pain. Sometimes vice versa. There are simple tests that can be done to determine if this is your problem. Is treatable, so do not stress about it, but it is a pain ass! good luck

Ben Franklin probably did not say, "Show me a man in a bad mood and I'm going to teach a man with bad shoes ", but should have. They say that man's shoes, and they are right in that one and one title. Good, quality shoes that look good – they make you feel good. A pair of high quality shoes makes your feet happy, and when your feet are happy, the rest of you is a framework much better mood to face the day. Badly done and well-fitting shoes are the cause of many sad days, and here's why.
Shoes pain hurts more than the feet. Your feet are the basis of its skeleton. When there is a problem with the foundation of a building, the symptoms may appear in the cracks on walls or ceilings, floors that slope in the wrong direction – even in the plumbing and electrical problems. The same goes for your body. When your shoes are not supported their feet properly, legs and hips and spine and shoulders and neck to try to compensate. Taking one of these out of alignment can cause discomfort, pain and other problems.
It is much more likely to notice the discomfort of things like onions and blisters caused by the seams Gross heel pain, support and the poor in general, foot pain shoe contract. Among the obvious pain caused by shoes that are well done and more subtle effects quality shoes in poor condition and low you may find yourself in pain with low constant level. Who can think clearly and be in good spirits when their legs and their bodies are in pain?
How can you help quality footwear Well made quality shoes as those made by Naot support your feet in a number of different ways. shoes Naot are designed to keep your feet happy. Heel is designed to keep the heels constantly, so it is difficult to change the ankles when walking. The bar connecting the heel to the tip of your foot stimulates your feet to distribute your weight evenly. A toe box toe gives ample space needed to move and reach the spot to while walking – even if they are not really in contact with the ground.
The materials used in the manufacture of shoes make a big difference. emanates from genuine leather, moisture away from your feet and let air circulate around them. This means more cold feet, the less chance of infection and much less smelly feet.
What to look for in quality shoes Now about why quality shoes are important, we'll talk choosing a good pair of shoes that support your feet – and your body – properly.
"First, look at the shoe. Style can be important for you, but there are other things to look. He and regularly dives straight seams? Soft leather and finished really? Look Is the well made shoes?
Feel shoe. Take shoes with both hands and try to turn. You must have some give, but not easily bend into shape.
Try to bend the shoe in half so the heel and toes are. Once again, there should be a little give, but should not be able to bend. The stem of the shoe should bend the shoe to prevent further beyond the ball of the foot.
Pushing against the bottom of the tip of the shoe. The front of the shoe should bend easily so that your toes and soles the feet can do their job.
Poke-through inside the shoe. Jump, slide your hand inside your shoes and feel everything. You should feel seamless spots or rough areas. The internal surface should be comfortably padded and soft. Language of the shoe should have enough padding to allow fitting shoes without breaking into the top of your foot.
-Check the equipment. The upper and the lining of the shoe should be leather. Leather breathes and molds to fit at his feet comfortably. May not be able to see under the hood of the shoe, so to speak, but you can ask questions about other materials. A steel bar is the most deal, and soles of leather much better than most synthetic materials.
past the A-things: high quality shoes, as Naot shoes and sandals can be expensive, but it is money well spent. However, they show, like anything else, wear shoes. Are you finding a pair of shoes that fit perfectly and makes you feel so good – no need to replace a few years. Naot shoes are among the most versatile in that sense – can replace the shoe bed and when necessary to keep them feeling fresh, new and comfortable for years.
