causes of hip pain nerve
Im 23 w 4 days pregnant. and having hip pain?

The last i would say 6 days My hip has hurt bad when i walk it cracks and pops, I feel like its pinching a nerve, Ill get a REALLY bad cramp in my leg if i stand to much cause of my hip hurting. is this normal? should i go get my hip checked or do you think that because of the baby being breech that he might be pressing on something… also my stomach muscle will tighten really bad for about a min then let go… what could that be?… i read my pregnancy book and it dident say anthing about hip pain… thanks

This is a common symptom of pregnancy… unfortunately. It’s just your hips softening and opening so the baby has a better opening to come out through.

I’m in week 32 and my hips have been sheer agony.

Something I have found helps at night is to put a big pillow lengthways between my legs. From hip to toe/ankle.

I still have to turn over alot at night to relieve the pressure, but over-all this is helping and I’m sleeping more.

Your midwife/doctor may be able to refer you to a chiropractor if you ask.

All the best – I hope it eases off for you.

hip replacement revision
pain after a revision hip replacement?

i had a revision hip replacement in january was doing fine and then about six weks ago started to get pain on side of my leg just below ending of scar . thought it might be muscle pain but its getting worse would physio help . my xrays came back normal acouple of weeks before pain started i am worried sick that it might be loosening again. as anyone had simillar experiences

If I were you, I’d make another appointment with the surgeon and have it checked out. It may be nothing serious. Wouldn’t you feel better knowing that for sure? In addition, if another x-ray or physical therapy or pain meds are indicated, you could get the Rx for those at the same doctor appointment.

left femoral neck osteopenia?

I am a woman of 73 years of Fosamax and 1500 mg of calcium daily. I recently had bone density test done. I left my spine and left hip were normal, but I'm osteopenia of the left hip. I joined a health club and exercise with weights. However, because of arthritis around my sciatica I can not lower the pressure building. Are there any alternatives? Can you add some sort of orthopedics in this area? I realized last year, I had a pain that is different from my sciatic pain. Sciatic pain is a pain in the ass. It was a pain that started in the left side and irradiated right lower back when I tried to clean. It really does not bother me when I'm walking or stationary bike. Similarly, when the technician showed me how to the test when pressed on my left to close the bottom I have a sore hip.

Please ask your doctor about physical therapy to develop a structured program of physical fitness for you. Health clubs are great, but applied to people in perfect health. They are not allowed to advise anyone with a medical condition.

severe hip pain symptoms
Severe leg pain, can’t walk???

Hi! I have a friend who is in her 50s. She has had mild leg pain for the past few years. Now the pain has intensified and she cant put any weight on it!!

Her right leg totally wont support any weight. The pain is from her foot up to her hip. Very intense. She has been to doctors in Eastern Europe, where she lives, but no one can give her a diagnosis or treatment. (She did try physical therapy, but it didnt help at all.)

Any suggestions for a diagnosis? She has had NO injuries, no current life trauma, no digestive, skin or other issues. Her only symptom seems to be the intense pain in her leg. Could this be a symptom of some disease or just arthritis or rheumatoid arthritis? She says that the pain is the whole leg, though, not specifically the joint.

Thanks for the help!!

-Kelly

I highly recommend that she have her Sciatic Nerve checked, to see if it is compromised anywhere.
She will have to have a MRI in order to see anything,as X Rays do not pick up soft tissue damage like that.

The Sciatic Nerve runs from the middle of your back across to both hips, down the thigh and knee, across the shin into your foot and across to your foot to your big toe. I know that this sounds unlikely, but she may have a herniated or ruptured disc in her lower back that is pressing the nerve. I know this because it is exactly what happened to me and we were baffled for a long time because I had no back pain and like your friend no type of trauma. This nerve is so large that when compromised at any point the symptoms can be displaced. My pain started with mild hip and leg pain as well.
I also had all of my pain in my right leg only.

Unless the pressure is removed from the Sciatic Nerve nothing like physical therapy would work. For me, it made it worse. I now suffer permanent Sciatic Nerve damage because it took so long to diagnose my problem that the Nerve was too damaged.

If it is this, I know that your friend is suffering, as there has never been a way I could describe this horrendous pain. Please relate my best wishes and luck!!

You may email me if you have any questions that may help you.

Total Hip Replacement Problems

total hip replacement problems

Hip flexion

Private health insurance is a huge buffer for those who suffer from hip problems. It is one of the major joints of body and as such has a wide range of movements and also carries the weight of the main limitations. The constant pressure is placed in this county and as such is one of the first to wear away, with his knees. replacement surgery of the hip are common in the NHS but, as with many operations, it may be a bit of a wait, unless you have health insurance who is willing to pay for the operation when needed.

A deterioration of the hip is usually a gradual process, often for several years due to wear in aging and diseases such as osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. But it can also be caused by trauma such as a broken bone or damage in thigh loss of blood to the head of the femur.

At first it is a matter of pain management, but bearing hips, patients can get to the point of needing a joint replacement. This particular operation has been very well received favorably by patients and is one of the great advances of modern medicine to achieve quality of life of patients. According to NHS Direct website on the subject, at least 50,000 total hip replacements are performed each year.

Who says it's a big operation and the doctors attempt to minimize the impact by carrying out operations rather than complete resurfacing joint replacement. This a useful way to provide immediate relief for the patient, but not as durable as hip replacement. In fact, recent figures suggest that you be very lucky to have three years of operation on a hip resurfacing.

This means that covers the bones using metal coated and is made to try to reduce patients trauma suffered by major operations such as total hip replacement. Once only available through health insurance finance, is now widely available on the NHS, but there are a lot of sense if you have to go through more than once? hip replacements are usually carried full term corrections, joints painful hips.

A patient who dealt with the operation of the left hip resurfacing has been a great disappointment. Sixty-year-old man had heard of this procedure in its early days and days, health insurance, was able to move forward with the transaction. However, within five weeks of the fractured bone had returned, landing in the hospital again in the NHS made total hip prosthesis him. It is possible that this man was bad luck that no medical care is not quite proof, but progress in the hope of modern medicine to reduce the chances of this happening.

These hip surgery also coincide with the knee joint operations partially replace the replacement text. According to the Times, the current understanding is that one of every sixty-five of these operations partial failure and one possibility is quite high. Until these skills can be further reduced, then it is best to keep up with your insurance and if you ever is in need of medical attention, at least you have the options available to you.

causes of hip pain treatment
Hepatitis A After my joints are swollen, I like needle sharp pains in the body, and arthritis in general?

I was vaccinated with vaccine against hepatitis A and Havrix.I Avaxim soon the pain and inflammation in the knee, in two weeks and gradually spread to my hips and my shoulders.I hands and needle have also had pains in my body tissues from innoculation. Is there an antidote or treatment for this condition? I am sure that even vaccination.I have lost my audience with severe tinnitus months. My years a doctor has not been able to help. The shot was 3 years and the symptoms continued and either ear spread.Has about a treatment or a cure to reverse this disease? I am absolutely sure that the vaccine against hepatitis is the direct cause.

Try to see a rheumatologist. It seems that the vaccine caused an autoimmune reaction in the joints (body attacks its own joints), developed rheumatoid arthritis (RA). There are people arthritis as they age. You can get tested for RA. They could try a course of steroids and see if that helps. There are some new drugs to help RA. I guess I should be feeling terrible and having all kinds of feelings, wishing he'd never had the vaccine, etc. But I had no idea what would happen. Anything you can do is try to stop the advance of what is happening now. Beware! But definitely go see a rheumatologist (specialist in autoimmune diseases).

causes of severe hip pain
What causes throbbing pain in the hip?

A few months ago, suddenly, I had trouble climbing the stairs with my left leg. It was like the first leg was weak to stand. Then I noticed my left hip was in pain trying to climb the stairs. This continues today, months later. Now, besides the difficulty in climbing stairs, both of my hips and pain of all wood throbber day and especially at night. My doctors do not know what it is, I had an MRI of the brain and nerve test engine which was released both negative. I also had a radiograph of the hip and I have arthritis of the hip. (Although I have arthritis and her hands and knees). Someone had hip pain as I have described? What test? Thanks!

I have many problems back and I is, in fact, my hips in a similar way to what appears is happening. I see a chiropractor drop table is also a specialist at the end and always corrects my problems. Perhaps a lookyloo in the yellow pages for one and make an appointment.

The total replacement joint surgery in India at a lower cost, accessible

The total replacement joint surgery

TJA What?

An arthritic or damaged joint is removed and replaced with a prosthetic joint artificial call …

What is common?

A joint is formed the ends of two or more bones that are connected by thick tissues. For example, the knee joint is composed of the lower leg bones (tibia and fibula) and femur (thigh bone). The hip is a ball, formed by the upper end of the femur (the ball), and part of the pelvis called the acetabulum (the socket) …

Why do we need total joint replacement?

The goal is to relieve joint pain caused by damage to cartilage. Pain can be severe, a person will avoid using the joint, weakening the muscles around the joint and make it even more difficult to move the joint …

How is a total joint replacement done?

You will be given anesthesia and the surgeon replaces damaged joint parties. For example, in an arthritic knee the damaged ends of the bones and cartilage are replaced by metal and plastic surfaces adapting to restore knee movement and function.

In an arthritic hip, the damaged ball (the end of the femur) is replaced by a ball metal attached to a metal rod inserted in the femur and a plastic plug is implanted in the pelvis, replacing damaged making ….

What is the recovery process?

In general, the orthopedic surgeon will encourage you to use their "new" joint shortly after your operation. After total hip or knee, often up and start walking the day after surgery. At first, walking with a walker, crutches or a cane.

Most patients had temporary pain in the replaced joint because the surrounding muscles are weak from inactivity and the tissues are healing. This will end in a few weeks or months ….

What the possible complications?

Tell your orthopedic surgeon of the medical conditions that could affect the surgery. the joint replacement surgery is a success in more than 9 people 10. When complications occur, most are treatable with success …

Possible complications include following.

Infection

Infection can occur in the wound or deep around of the prosthesis. Sometimes when in the hospital or after you return. You can even occur years later.

Blood clots

Blood clots due to several factors, including disability causing a slow movement of blood in the veins of your legs. Blood clots can be suspected if the pain and inflammation develop in the calf or thigh.

Relaxation

Loosening of the prostheses in bone may occur after total joint replacement. This can cause pain. If the release is important, a review of the joint Replacements may be necessary. New methods of fixation of the prosthesis to bone should minimize this problem.

Dislocation

Sometimes after total hip replacement the ball can be dislodged from the socket. In most cases, the hip can move without surgery. A bandage that can be used for a period of time if a dislocation. In most cases, the disorders are more common after complex revision surgery.

Wear

Some wear can be found in all joint replacements. Excessive wear may contribute to relaxation and may require revision surgery.

Prosthesis failure

Rupture of metal or joint replacement Plastic is rare but can occur. A revision surgery is necessary for this to happen.

Neuronal injury

The nerves in near the common ground, the alternatives can be damaged during replacement surgery, although this type of injury rarely …

Is the total joint replacement permanent?

Most older people can expect their total joint replacement to last a decade or more. It will give years of life without pain would not have been possible otherwise.

Younger patients with joint replacement may need a second total joint replacement. Materials and surgical techniques have improved through the efforts of orthopedic surgeons who work with engineers and scientists from other ….

Recent advances in total joint replacement

So successful as most of the procedures for replacement of the joint are, over the years, artificial joints may become loose and unstable, requiring a review (Repeat) surgery.

These issues and the fact that an increasing number of patients younger and more active receive prostheses total joint, and elderly patients live longer, have questioned the orthopedic industry to try to extend the life cycle of total joint replacements ….

causes of hip pain symptoms
I've been told I have a viral infection, but symptoms that seem very worrying, can anyone help?

I started with what I thought it was a cold in the new year, just was not improving. Then he found swollen lymph nodes in my groin area pm. The doctor said it is very common when you are fighting infection and not, were very serious. About three weeks (still cold), I started getting feelings strange in my arms, and cold running water and felt like someone was digging his fingers into my arms pits. When sense of cold water in which I think is also very dizzy and sick and very sick! He had a dull pain on the left side near my hip bone as well. I'm not improving at all and still have episodes of vertigo by cold tingling in the arms and legs now. I tested for blood count was normal and my doctor says it is the virus that causes the symptoms. I'm worried sick – that does not help! Does anyone have any ideas that could be happening?

I had a viral infection last year and every day there a new symptom. I was in my bed for eight weeks. It depends on how the virus is strong! You've had tests to rule out something serious, so try to relax!

Hip Pain Groin And Buttock

Friday, May 8th, 2009

Is this my Sciatic Nerve?

Over the weekend I squatted down to pick up an object and heard a loud pop in my hip…I have had severe pain in my groin area and buttocks area every since. When I walk and lift my leg it hurts badly, but when I lay on my stomach with my leg hiked up to my side the pain subsides. Could this be an injury to my sciatic nerve?

The concern of mine is that your pain is in your “groin and buttocks” and “pain when your walk” and “pain when you lift your leg”…..every one of these are signs of true hip pain as well as the possibility of your Sacroilliac joint.

If you lay on your back, cross your affected leg over the other leg as if you were going to create the “indian style” position. Now press down on the knee of the affected side towards the ground, if this causes pain in your groin and buttock, it is your hip that is affected. Also, if you have pain raising your leg or rotating the leg itself then you may have a true hip problem.

If you lay face down and bring your heel towards your buttock and towards the opposite buttock and it causes pain, then it may be your sacroilliac joint.

A Chiropractor or Physical therapist can evaluate this and effectively treat this. The chiropractor will be able to take an x-ray as well to evaluate the condition further.

Usually sciatics affects the buttock and back of the leg rather than groin area.

If you have more pain 3-4 inches lateral to your spine just below your waist line, then it more than likely is your SI joint.

Trasylol Injections May Cause Stroke, Death

Trasylol-Aprotinin, an injectable drug produced by the huge German pharmaceutical conglomerate Bayer AG, is normally used to control bleeding after heart bypass surgery and other heart-related procedures.

But the drug, which is used in 60 percent of all bypass procedures, actually contributes to decreased health in bypass patients by doubling heart bypass patients’ risk of developing dialysis-demanding kidney failure, in addition to increasing the possibility of future strokes, heart attacks, and even death. In fact, it is estimated that use of the Trasylol-Aprotinin injection causes 10,000 cases of kidney failure in heart bypass patients every year.

Other Staggering Statistics

10,000 is a huge number…but what about 109 or even 181 percent? These are the percentages by which Trasylol patients are at risk for heart failure and stroke, respectively. In addition, Trasylol has been proven to make bypass surgery patients twice as likely to suffer kidney failure.

This will lead to hundreds of millions of dollars in healthcare costs – a number that stands in stark contrast to Bayer’s December 2005 announcement that the drug had a $615 million sales potential.

And the statistics don’t stop there – a January 2006 study by researchers at the Ischemic Research and Education Foundation in California stated that switching to generic Trasylol alternatives, such as tranexamic acid or aminocaproic acid, could not only prevent over 11,000 kidney complications a year, but could also reduce worldwide drug costs by over $200 million and save over a billion healthcare dollars. Serious statistics for a drug that has been given rise to serious medical concerns.

Bayer Continues to Market and Promote

As recently as March 2006, Bayer AG continued to vehemently defend and market its potentially dangerous drug, Trasylol. It is currently pushing to have the drug approved for use in hip replacement surgeries, thus widening the drug’s potential market – and exposing an ever larger market to its dangerous side effects.

Though the drug costs 10 times more than its generic counterparts (which have not been proven to provoke any dangerous renal or heart symptoms), Bayer AG continues to promote and sell it to over 1 million bypass and other heart surgery patients per year.

If You Have Experienced Side Effects

If you have experienced negative side effects due to your use of injectable Trasylol-Aprotinin, including but not limited to encephalopathy, renal failure, heart problems, or stroke, contact an experienced pharmaceutical products attorney after seeking competent medical care.

Your Trasylol lawyer can assess your potential case, help you file your lawsuit, and even help you gain monetary compensation for your medical bills, lost wages, future medical care and pain and suffering due to the dangerous side effects of Trasylol-Aprotinin.

Patients who have undergone extreme heart-related surgical procedures like heart bypass surgery do not deserve to continue the suffering that can be related to Trasylol-Aprotinin’s dangerous side effects.

Sciatic Hip Pain Symptoms

Is It Possible That I Have Hip Arthritis?

I’m 15 and for the last week I’ve had terrible pains in my right hip. It hurts more when I’ve sat down for a long time. Standing on one leg (right leg) hurts the hip so much. Walking upstairs is unbearable.
I checked for sciatic nerve but I don’t have shooting pains in my leg! It’s just the hip and sometimes in my butt when i sit down but hardly ever.
The pain is going down now, but could it come back and could it be hip arthritis?
The doctor told me that my symptoms are a mystery and that i should just take pain killers…how useless!!!

It could be a hip stinger, where some nerves got hit and its causing pain from that area. It happens if you have fallen on your hip maybe?

It could also be a bone spur in your hip, which is basically like a bony projection which forms along the joint. It could be from an excess of calcium buildup.

Or, it could be muscle damage. You have muscles called the lateral rotators, gluteals, and adductor muscles all in your hip. If you pulled one of those or tore it, it would be painful.

At your age, I doubt it’s arthritis. It’s rare, but possible to get arthritis at your age, but I wouldn’t jump to that conclusion yet. If anything, go to the doc and have it xrayed. Then you’ll know if there is any bone damage.

hip replacement problems
I had total hip replacement in July and I am not yet able to walk straight without pain any suggestions?

I have my hip replacement in July and I fear that I would not be able to walk with a limp and pain that I now.Any idea of how long you should need to return to work and walk around once in 8 1 / 2 day or time more.Has anyone had the same problem for a long walk to the well? Worried I could not walk properly.

I had my two hips replaced in separate offices a few months apart. Here is my experience. My math says he had surgery eight weeks ago is not all that time in the whole system of things. It took me about three months to get rid of my box. Meanwhile, I continued with my PT exercises 3 times per day, which really helped me get the muscle tone and strength I needed so that I can walk without limping and without the aid of canes or walking more. But while I was limping, I was advised to continue to use my cane or crutches the time necessary for my body not "learn" to limp. The issue of pain is a little different. Was your cemented or uncemented implant? I wonder why those who have been implanted with a stem without cement (tree) may have pain that lasts longer in the femur (thigh bone). See this for more: # 6 against http://totaljoints.info/cemented_and_cementless_thr.htm Mine has been cemented and I really had no pain, except around the incision.
