Hip Replacement Tennis

Lump under skin, size of tennis ball, moves around…above my left hip (lower back)?

i had a total hip replacement 2 years ago and this lump is in that area…it feels achey and uncomfortable…i have no idea what this is…i know what scar tissue is and i have a fair amount of that…but this lump is not on, or really near my scar…its my lower back/behind the hip that was operated on…anyone know what this could be?
please dont reply if all you will say is “see a doctor”…as i have booked an appointment which is in 2 weeks time…
i’m 24 by the way…young for a hip replacement, i know…was born breach, had loads of hip ops since birth…

Unfortunately it’s hard to really give you an accurate answer about what the lump is without the testing and examination. Since if moves around, it may be something as simple as a cyst or it could even be a lipoma- which is a fatty non-cancerous type of tumor. They can reach a substantial size, although generally they reach size over time, rather than suddenly appear out of nowhere and be huge. As you are old enough to have had a total hip replacement, I suspect it could well be a lipoma. Those are more common in women of a “certain age”, than men. Either cyst or lipoma are easily enough taken care of, with a short in office procedure. Given the size you say it is, it probably aches because it presses against nerves, muscle and scar tissue in the area- and the body doesn’t much care for things being where there isn’t room for them to be. However to get a definite answer, you will just have to wait until you see the doctor and have it checked out. In the meantime, think positive. Most of what goes wrong with us is actually something simple and easy to fix. Chances are your lump will be too.

What causes right back sharp pain,lower back which extends to right hip and inner right thigh area.?

Right back pain, feels like right muscle running north and south being twisted, a pulling sensation as well as lower right back pain, a sharp pain. Only thing to help us a back wrap which I wear a lot. I’m right handed and do a lot of gardening.

Sciatic nerve or herniated disc go to your physician and tell him the symptoms. Physical Therapy might help. One way to confirm would be an MRI, although MRI’s don’t always show everything. Back injuries can be tricky, just because it can’t be seen doesn’t mean it’s not there. Don’t let it go and have someone tell you it’s a strain. If you are feeling pain in your legs or reaching your toes or heels at times, there is a problem. I had someone keep telling me it was just a severe strain. Well after complaining enought we found out it was a herniated disc and even though my symptoms couldn’t be understood I continued. I was having pain in my left leg and also in my right but the herniated disc was on the left. Some symptoms can’t be explained but don’t disregard them. If your body is saying there is pain even though it doesn’t seem like it should be in that area, tell your doctor and make sure he listens. Mine did.

How to lose 3 inches from my waist in 3 weeks?

Hi There

I am already very active but have about 14lbs to lose, I workout alot but have a wedding to go to in a few weeks and have a lovely dress to wear except it won’t do up on the side by about 3 inches!! Please help, serious exercisers might be able to point me in the right direction – here is my regime:

Monday: Legs, Bums & Tums 45 mins + 1 hour of cardio
Tuesday: Intermediate Pilates 55 mins
Wednesday: Body jam 1 hour (dance class) + advanced spinning 1 hour
Thursday: Advanced pilates 55 mins
Friday: Personal Training 1 hour
Saturday: Aerobics – 45 mins

I am going to start walking up and down 2 flights of stairs at work, 4 times a day and add half an hour of cardio before my pt session on a friday?

Anything else I can do??

Please bear in mind I have hip problems and need a replacement (not that you would know it with all that exercise, but it’s taken me a year to get there after surgery)

Hip Pain Iliac Crest

anyone had a bone graft from hip bone?

i injured my ulna years ago, in a mva, had it plated-had it taken out 2 years later, now i found out due to pain, it never healed, the surgeon wants to graft bone from my iliac crest aka hip bone,and put that in the ulna,and re-plate it to get it to heal proplery, how painful is this?
he will also be doing arthroscopy on my wrist to repair a damaged endon at the same time…anyone had this done? how painful?

Im not going to lie to you it is one of the most pain full medical procedures available today but with modern pain killers you will be OK. Judging what you are telling us the surgery is necessary (doctors don’t preform surgery for no reason)

What can cause severe hip pain in a Teen?

Well, for the past 2weeks after running the mile in my P.E. Class in the shortest time i’m unable to run, because running,taking a seat, and standing/walking causes me severe pain in my hips. I think i might have a Stress Fracture… But i don’t have a clue. I’m going to start failing P.E. If i’m unable to take part of P.E, But i’m unable to run and I can barely walk… Both of my hips are swollen and the slightest turn in or out causes me severe and almost unbearable pain.. Please help me because i finally began to become the most fit in my P.E class and now i’m unable to prove it because i can barely walk…. None believe what my pain is… Its close to maybe breaking your finger…. Please give me some answers as to what my problem is…. I’m considering even begging my parents to take my to the doctors to get my hips checked out, But i want to see if there is any home remedies for this pain.

If you are experiencing pain, you should see a provider.

However, there are many fairly new concepts related to the hip that all providers are not knowledgeable of, including “young adult” (12-adult) hip dysplasia, hip impingement, labral tears, and additional related conditions of the hip.

Differential diagnosis, patient has severe pain in the groin on the side right to walk upright / repeated lifting of 50 pounds more than a quarter of 11.5 hours. The patient had prior injuries groin. The patient had symptoms of the common sciatic nerve pain associated with pain in the groin. Patient claims the pain is always present, but is worse at night. RM has already ruled out a herniated disc in the lumbar region should be hip. In addition to soft tissue injury is unlikely because the pain has persisted for 9 months. My feeling is that the psoas bursitis piriformis syndrome, I would also say, but the patients was 4 months of musculoskeletal muscle relaxants (Skelaxin) and anti-inflammatory drugs (Celebrex and meloxicam) What's yours? Lower Back Hip Pain Remedy

What is with the pain?

I want to know about your experiences with lower back and mostly extreme hip pain. I see my doctor tomorrow, so I will talk to him about it. I’ve done all the possible tests. And It is not just my joints loosening up, or stretching. I am 32 weeks and this is unbelievable. Is there anyone who has or is suffering from extreme pain in the hips and/or back? It’s to the point where a sprained ankle would feel better. I love being pregnant but this is ridiculous. My first was an easy one compared. Please I need details and remedies. Before any one suggests to stretch and exercise keep in mind that I’m high risk for preterm birth and I’m not allowed.

Hes probably just leaning on your sciatic nerve. Look it up in a search engine and see if its what you have then mention it to your doctor and he can tell you ways to help relieve the pain. also if you find a good website it will tell you stretchs and stuff that will make the baby move off your nerve. One that helped for my was gettin on my hands and kness(i know kinda hard with the big belly) and doing pelvic rolls. you can try looking those up to and find pictures of how to do it.
