What causes right back sharp pain, lower back which extends to right hip and inner right thigh area.?
Right back pain, feels like right muscle running north and south being twisted, a pulling sensation as well as lower right back pain, a sharp pain. Only thing to help us a back wrap which I wear a lot. I’m right handed and do a lot of gardening.
Sciatic nerve or herniated disc go to your physician and tell him the symptoms. Physical Therapy might help. One way to confirm would be an MRI, although MRI’s don’t always show everything. Back injuries can be tricky, just because it can’t be seen doesn’t mean it’s not there. Don’t let it go and have someone tell you it’s a strain. If you are feeling pain in your legs or reaching your toes or heels at times, there is a problem. I had someone keep telling me it was just a severe strain. Well after complaining enought we found out it was a herniated disc and even though my symptoms couldn’t be understood I continued. I was having pain in my left leg and also in my right but the herniated disc was on the left. Some symptoms can’t be explained but don’t disregard them. If your body is saying there is pain even though it doesn’t seem like it should be in that area, tell your doctor and make sure he listens. Mine did.

I’m considering even begging my parents to take my to the doctors to get my hips checked out, But i want to see if there is any home remedies for this pain.
If you are experiencing pain, you should see a provider.
However, there are many fairly new concepts related to the hip that all providers are not knowledgeable of, including “young adult” (12-adult) hip dysplasia, hip impingement, labral tears, and additional related conditions of the hip.
You may want to do some reading and see if any of the symptoms relate to what you are experiencing, to help stem thoughtful discussion/questions with your provider. You can located much information and support at http://hippreservation.org/
There are also support groups linked from there, and yes, there are definitely others around your age who have had similar issues and been in the same boat as far as people not initially believing them…so you’re not alone.
Talk to your parents, and have them do some reading on the subject matter also so that they can help ask questions and advocate on your behalf with the doctors.
Good Luck.

I want to know about your experiences with lower back and mostly extreme hip pain. I see my doctor tomorrow, so I will talk to him about it. I’ve done all the possible tests. And It is not just my joints loosening up, or stretching. I am 32 weeks and this is unbelievable. Is there anyone who has or is suffering from extreme pain in the hips and/or back? It’s to the point where a sprained ankle would feel better. I love being pregnant but this is ridiculous. My first was an easy one compared. Please I need details and remedies. Before any one suggests to stretch and exercise keep in mind that I’m high risk for preterm birth and I’m not allowed.
Hes probably just leaning on your sciatic nerve. Look it up in a search engine and see if its what you have then mention it to your doctor and he can tell you ways to help relieve the pain. also if you find a good website it will tell you stretchs and stuff that will make the baby move off your nerve. One that helped for my was gettin on my hands and kness(i know kinda hard with the big belly) and doing pelvic rolls. you can try looking those up to and find pictures of how to do it.

Late Stage Degenerative Hip Disease Treatment performed at Orthopedic Hospitals of Goa
Late stage degenerative hip disease treatment performed at orthopedic hospitals of Goa has benefited many international patients that too at minimal cost. Goa is perfect holiday destination and now is referred as the best medical tourism destination. Surgeons performing treatment of degenerative hip disease treatment are experiencedenough for giving the best possible results. Patients can have their treatment done at much lower costs that in western countries and can relax at beautiful beaches. Moreover it will be beneficial for their recovery. Hospitals in Goa are equipped with the latest technical gadgets required for medical procedures and amenities are well versed with the International standards. Late stage degenerative hip disease treatment at Goa is the best option for patients residing in countries like U.S and U.K because the costs of medical procedures in those countries are very high.
What is Late Stage Degenerative Hip Disease?
A degeneration or ‘wear and tear’ of articular (joint surface) cartilage, usually accompanied by an overgrowth of bone (osteophytes) narrowing of the joint space, sclerosis or hardening of bone at the joint surface, and deformity in joints of hip is called Late stage degenerative hip disease. Osteoarthritis is not usually associated with inflammation, although swelling of the joint does frequently occur in Osteoarthritis. This type of arthritis is called Osteoarthritis, Osteoarthritis, degenerative joint disease, DJD, or osteoarthritis. Other forms of arthritis (rheumatoid, post-traumatic, and other inflammatory disorders) frequently may have Osteoarthritis as the end-stage, making differentiation difficult.
Symptoms of Degenerative Hip Disease
Initially there may be joint stiffness, usually lasting more than 15 minutes, and typically following activity of the joint. Later there may be pain on motion of the affected joint, which is made worse with activity or weight-bearing and relieved by rest. Typically Osteoarthritis improves with rest and does not remain symptomatic at night time. It is usually better in the morning, and it worsens as the day progresses.
Late Stage Degenerative Hip DiseaseTreatment
Surgery may be dramatically effective for patients with late stage degenerative hip disease. Total hip replacement and newer hip resurfacing replacements can be extremely effective. The concerns about wear of the prosthetic joint surface in younger patients make this the most challenging aspect of future research in this area. Newer joint surfaces for joint replacement including highly cross-linked polyethylene, metal on metal bearing, ceramic bearings, and others have emerged and currently are available in the U.S.
Although arthroscopic surgery for hip replacement is a common procedure, its long-term effectiveness is unclear, and may be best for symptoms such as catching, locking, or those that have been present for only a short duration. In addition, not all patients that have arthritis should have an arthroscopy, as this may not improve their symptoms.
In younger patients with late stage degenerative hip disease, preserving procedures should be considered, in order to avoid a hip replacement. Although performed less frequently, hip preserving procedures, such as osteotomy (cutting the bone and realigning the bone or joint surface), may restore a joint to a normal alignment and be an excellent alternative to joint replacement.
Why Goa?
Late stage degenerative hip disease treatmentat Goa is the most preferred option in international patients at minimal cost. These days it seems like every country in the world promotes itself as a heaven for medical tourism. The reality is that in most cases they offer sub-standard facilities and limited skills/qualifications. India has tens of thousands of skilled physicians and nurse practitioners for mesenteric ischemia treatment. Over the last two decades, the economic boom in India has led to the building of medical facilities & infrastructure that rival the very best that western medical care that the west has to offer. Many of the physicians that practice in these hospitals and clinics have returned (to India) from the U.S. and Europe, leaving behind successful practices. While some small countries may be viable as alternatives for minor surgical procedures, India is the only mainstream option that offers a comprehensive solution for any and all medical needs, and does this with the highest levels of service, facilities and professional skills. Pain / tenderness in the left (back between ribs and hip)?
I woke up thinking that tomorrow, March I could have slept in a strange position. But I'm still wrong today. His left hand back between the ribs and hip. It is touch sensitive and it hurts when breathe deeply. It is also uncomfortable to sit and lie on the side. I have problems with my lower back, but is higher than my usual past issues. Most kidney perhaps. I have no symptoms of kidney stones. All medical staff or people who might have this? Any thoughts appreciated. I do not know if I should go to dr. I havent covered something or did something that occurs to me that there would be beaten or injured every muscle. I'm not sure it's my kidney .. But that's the only thing in this field .. Nothing unusual in my urine. Im drinking lots of water too. This is the area "flank" area of the back.
There are many things you could do kidney damage than stones. Knowing that recently did not hurt in this area, I recommend to have it checked by your doctor to be on the safe side.

Is your car driving your pain? An osteopaths opinion
Is your car driving your pain? An osteopaths opinion
Whether driving a car, a bus, or a lorry or even as a passenger – you could be suffering driving related back pain.
In all these cases, osteopathy can help to reduce pain and your osteopath in Manchester can offer advice on back pain management, including simple exercises to prevent problems in the future.
Keep moving is advised by osteopaths -
It’s not just the driver who can stiffen up in a car. Passengers are often seated for long periods of time in a fixed position.
Movement is the key for car, driver and passenger.
As a passenger, try to alter your position from time to time and sit with your knees bent and thighs level and comfortable. Avoid sitting with your legs crossed; move them regularly.
For driver and passengers, stop regularly, ideally once an hour, especially when feeling tired.
Get out of your vehicle and walk around it several times.
Stretch like a cat, gently moving your arms around, bringing your knees up to your hips, and stretching your whole body.
Osteopaths ask any back pain sufferer to consider the following
Choose a car, with an adjustable lumbar support (and use it). Alternatively, keep a small cushion in the car to support your lower back.
Choose a car with a higher kerb height to make getting in and out less stressful on the spine.
Depressing the clutch increases the pressure on your back so choose an automatic to avoid this.
Power steering also significantly reduces the load on the spine.
Driving can give you…
Neck Pain
Headaches
Eyestrain
Shoulder Pain
Wrist Pain
Elbow Pain
Back Pain
Bottom Ache
Hip Pain
Knee Pain
Foot and Ankle Pain
Is the car the right fit for you?
Sometimes, the design of the car itself can lead to back problems. If you have to drive particularly long distances, check out the cabin and layout of the controls with the tests set out below, and a comfortable motorway cruiser is gentler on your back
If the car can pass these four simple tests then there is a good chance that it is suitable for the particular driver. By using these tests a prospective buyer can make an informed choice of car and hopefully avoid ‘driver’s back pain’.
Try the following tests that our Manchester Osteopaths often mention
1. The Praying Test
– The driver places both hands together, pointing forwards. If the steering wheel is not offset then the driver should be pointing straight at the centre of the wheel. The danger of having an offset wheel is that most drivers tend to rotate the middle of the spine to compensate for its position, producing long term back strain.
2. The Fist Test
– With the seat in the normal driving position make a fist with the left hand keeping the thumb to the side of the index finger. It should be possible to insert the fist on the crown of the head. If it is only just possible to insert the flat of the hand between the roof and the head then there is insufficient headroom. The danger of having too little headroom is that the driver may compensate for the lack of height by slouching in the seat which puts a strain on the spine and thighs.
3. The Look Down Test
– With both hands placed evenly on the steering wheel look down at the legs. It should be possible to see equal amounts of both legs between the arms. Frequently the left leg will be visible but the right leg will be obscured by the right arm which may indicate that the shoulder girdle is rotated to the left in relation to the pelvis.
4. The Right Leg Test
– This test should be performed after you have stopped having driven the car for a short while.
Once again, look down and examine the position of the right leg. Is it elevated above the level of the left or has it fallen out towards the edge of the seat? Is the right foot roughly in line with the thigh as it should be, or has it had to come across towards the centre of the car?
5. The Kerb Height Test
– Swing the right leg out of the car as though getting out, and place the right foot on the ground. Try and ensure the lower leg (shin and calf) is in a vertical position.
Now look at the surface of the right thigh. It should be sloping down towards the knee. If it is sloping upwards (i.e. if the knee is higher than the hip) you will have difficulty when exiting this vehicle.
If the car can pass these 5 simple tests there is a good chance that it is suitable for that particular driver. By utilising the tests, a prospective purchaser should be able to produce a short list of suitable vehicles, from which they can then make a choice.
When driving
Car seats can be adjusted to suit your posture but make sure that you always:
1. Keep your seat reasonably upright, leaning backwards only at a slight angle.
2. Keep the headrest adjusted so that the centre of the headrest is level with your eyes. Don’t set the headrest too low as this can allow more serious injury in an accident.
3. When getting in, sit first then swing your legs into the car. When you get out, move the seat back before swinging your legs out.
4. Do you ‘ride the clutch’, resting your foot in the air? No wonder your ankles or calf muscles hurt.
5. To relax, raise your shoulders to your ears breathing in, and then lower them as you breathe out. You may want to do this at every red traffic light, or major junction.
6. Avoid reaching behind to get bags from the rear seat. Don’t be lazy. Get out and open the door.
7. Be careful when loading and unloading. Lift correctly.
8. Avoid lifting unnecessary weights. Get help to change a tyre.
9. Sit with arms gently bent at the elbow to the wheel and don’t lean forward out of the seat.
10. Wear a seat belt and make sure it is properly adjusted. Make sure children also have appropriate seat belts and cushions.
Remember
Prevention is better than cure.
Sit properly, drive relaxed.
Osteopaths can advise on posture.
Osteopaths treat neck and back pain – and a great many other things as well.
If you are unlucky enough to be involved in a road accident osteopathy can help relieve the pain of injury, especially whiplash-type injuries.
Osteopaths are often asked by solicitors to write medico-legal reports on accident
victims, to help them claim compensation.

In our last article, we briefly discussed Osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid Arthritis. This article will take a close look at the cause, symptoms, and current treatment used for Osteoarthritis. So let’s take a second look at what Osteoarthritis is.
Osteoarthritis is known by many as “wear and tear” Arthritis. It is one of the most common forms of Arthritis and is the result of cartilage wearing away from the joints. This cartilage is responsible for the smooth gliding of joints, and once it begins to deteriorate, the patient is left with pain, joint swelling and inflammation, and even deformity.
Osteoarthritis patients usually state that their pain is greatest during times of movement, and then lessens significantly during periods of rest. Osteoarthritis affects many more women than men. There is an estimated 24 million Osteoarthritis sufferers in the United States and roughly 74% are women.
The cause of Osteoarthritis is not known, yet doctors have many suspicions. Some of the symptoms of Osteoarthritis boggle the minds of scientists and more research needs to take place to determine the actual root of the disease. For instance, X-rays can tell that Arthritis is present, yet the amount of pain reported by Osteoarthritis sufferers differs from the results of the X-ray. Though many people refer to Osteoarthritis as the “wear and tear” disease, evidence shows that this disease and its mysterious cause are not as simple as that definition. In fact, “wear and tear” does not take place in just one joint, but affects joints simultaneously throughout the body. An example of this, is that sufferers with Osteoarthritis of the knee, offer suffer Osteoarthritis in the hand. Also, doctors have noted that patients don’t suffer with Osteoarthritis on just one side of the body (as would be expected due to wear and tear) but because it seems to affect the body concurrently, it appears that Osteoarthritis is a systematic disease affecting all of the cartilage at once.
One suggestion is that Osteoarthritis is a result of cartilage that has stopped functioning at optimum level. Cartilage is continuously undergoing a process where it is broken down, then rebuilt. Some theories state that this process becomes unbalanced and out of hand. This is referred to as “End Stage Osteoarthritis.” It is at this stage that joint pain and impairment begin to manifest. There are many natural remedies that show promise in the management of Osteoarthritis pain and symptoms. Look for future articles in our Arthritis Series that will offer natural remedies that may prevent enzymes from damaging cartilage.
Some other ideas that point to the cause of Osteoarthritis include:
· Previous Sports related or Joint Injuries · Genetically Inherited (it appears that Osteoarthritis runs in families) · Repeated Occurrences of Bleeding into a Joint (as occurs with Hemophilia and other diseases) · Repeated Occurrences of Gout and Gout like Diseases · Avascular Necrosis- this is a condition where blood near a bone is cut off, this leads to bone death as well as joint damage. Avascular Necrosis typically afflicts the hip joint. · Previous Rheumatoid Related Illness- such as Rheumatoid Arthritis can lead to chronic inflammation of the joints. · Osteoporosis-due to the high risk of bone fractures and injury, Osteoarthritis may develop in joints. · Metabolic Disorders- for example, Hemochromatosis can result in high levels of Iron being deposited in the joints · Joint Infection-It is believed that cartilage may deteriorate in people who have defects in their cartilage and joints.
We’ve discussed the potential causes of Osteoarthritis, now it is time to look at the various symptoms of Osteoarthritis. The symptoms of Osteoarthritis include:
· Joint Pain- this tends to be worse when rising in the morning · Joint Swelling and Inflammation- this occurs during periods of activity · Feeling a “Grinding” Sensation when a Joint is moved · Loss of Mobility and Flexibility
There is no sure way to prevent Arthritis in any of its forms. There are however some things that you can do to help lower your risk of developing Osteoarthritis or any other type of Arthritis. Some of the preventative methods that you may add to your lifestyle today include:
· Maintain an Ideal Body Weight · Take steps to prevent the development of Osteoporosis. Some of these include taking adequate Vitamin D and Calcium, exercising, and taking medication if needed. · Do your best to prevent injuring your bones and joints -try to avoid accidents such as sports related, implementing joint protection by using splints and braces.

After a long day on your feet, knee pain sufferers know that their knees are going to be killing them. When your knees are sore you want easy relief, you want to be able to feel it right away. There are several things you can do to get simple, no-fuss reprieve from knee pain. Don’t you wish there was a list of these knee pain remedies that you could easy reference when your knee joints are throbbing? Luckily for you, there is!
Give your knees plenty of rest. If you know that your knees are a touchy subject, avoid those activities that you know aggravate the pain. I know it may be hard to opt to sit out on a game of hoops with your buddies, but if you suspect it will cause more harm than good, sit it out this time. This requires actively listening to your body and its needs before your knees are hurting.
Invest in a better pair of shoes. Don’t underestimate the importance of a good pair of supportive sneakers. If you are always wearing the latest style of high heels to work, it may be contributing to your knee pain. I’m not suggesting a pair of frumpy nurse shoes necessarily, but don’t sacrifice comfort for style. There are several name-brand shoes that specialize in both.
Ice – The tried and true is still the best. Ice is a great remedy for knee pain. It provides comfort, or at least numbs and deadens pain, and it also helps reduce swelling. Keep several of those squishy blue reusable icepacks in your freezer for when your knee pain flares up. Wrap the icepack in a thin flannel or dishcloth so it is more comfortable against the skin.
Begin exercising on a cushioned surface. Instead of running on the street for exercise, consider an indoor track. Often, the indoor track will be made of rubber that will aid in cushioning your knee joints. If you like to walk, consider walking on the grass instead of the pavement.
Get some support. I don’t mean the emotional kind, although that couldn’t hurt. A good supportive knee brace can help alleviate knee pain. Be careful when selecting one that is supportive but not too tight. If the brace is too tight it may actually cause more damage by forcing the joint into an unnatural position.
Warm up and stretch. Both before exercise and before you go to sleep, warming the muscles with heat (as long as you are sure you don’t have any swelling) is a good way to relax knee pain and prevent injury. Stretching is an excellent way to promote flexibility and strength in your legs.
